It seems to me that few spaces are more significant and sacred than journeying with those who allow me to share in the processing of their challenges and pain but also to join them in celebrating their dreams and successes. As such, I consider it a privilege to walk alongside others as we together seek ways to embrace hope, nurture growth, pursue restoration, and celebrate progress.
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). I received both my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and my Bachelor of Arts in Honours Psychology from Trinity Western University. I have practiced in a variety of settings including schools and private practices and I have also worked as a part of a suicide prevention team which offered crisis counselling services to children and youth throughout the Langley and Surrey school districts. I have had the honour of providing counselling services to children, youth, and adult clients who have been challenged by a variety of concerns such as: relationship conflict, life transitions, work or school difficulties, grief and loss, crisis, anxiety, depression, anger or stress management, self-harm, self-esteem, body image, sexuality and identity tensions, and special needs.
I gladly welcome clients of all ages and specialize in working with adolescents and young adults. I have a particular passion for journeying alongside youth who have special needs. This passion has extended into my research interests and I have been awarded for my research that explored identity meaning and development in the context of the mother-daughter relationship when the daughter has physical limitations.
As I help others to heal and to pursue restoration, I am also firmly committed to my own personal growth and professional development, in the belief that by engaging in these areas of learning and of accountability, I am better equipped to offer my clients quality services.
